When giving a speech, you want to 'Hook' your audience right from the start to get them listening. In order to capture and draw them in, consider using any of the following tried and true 'hooks'; a story, a video or graphic, a belief statement or perhaps a provocative statement, humour. Most people are lazy listeners. You need to let them know, upfront, that you will be worth listening to.Hook 'em early to keep 'em listening!
